Last year around this time I went to the library and got a few books for us (storybooks for Isabella, thrillers and cookbooks for me and war books for my war buff husband!) . While we were having dinner I was telling Philip that I got this cookbook today that I really like and from now on I’ll just follow the recipes from this book from page one so that I don’t have to think about that annoying thought everyday , “what’s for dinner?” After talking about it we came to a conclusion that I should totally blog about the whole process. (Also the idea of blogging is slightly inspired from my fav movie “Julie and Julia” (IMDb 7/10 ;such a feel good movie y’all ) ). So the journey from a being a girl who’s experience with computer is limited on checking emails, watching movies, browsing random stuff and MS Word , to someone who builds a stunning website (yes, I just called my website stunning , cause thats what it is ! 😀 ) from scratch without any prior education or experience was simply ecstatic! Every single day I used to add a little feature on my blog and the pleasure center of my brain immediately got stimulated. I used to spend 8/10 hours on the computer researching and building. Thanks to the inventors of internet, google and youtube! I was high on Dopamine the entire time ! One of the most rewarding and fulfilling chapter of my life.Then came the day for the big launch ! I picked the date 22nd Feb to launch my blog because this is the date we got married so it has a special spot in my heart.
I used to be all by myself with a very very small baby the entire day , struggling, this blog gave me the gateway I needed from the “Real Life”. This blog has been cathartic and therapeutic for me and I want it to exude joy and inspire other people the same way it did for me .
The Best Part :
Other than being an outlet for my creativity and making me motivated and happy, it is also giving me a sense of purpose or accomplishment. I never expected that anyone but me will everrrrr read this blog but when I see that over 11 thousand people read my blog every month it makes me realize that …may be I’m not as worthless as I think I am. Never expected to earn a dime from it but within a year , I’m making enough from this blog to pay the rent while doing something that makes me full is also a small growth for me. My blog got affiliated with Amazon, Target and I had the opportunity to collaborate with T.J.Maxx and many other big brands in the states within the first year which is pretty cool. The day I got accepted on Rewardstyle (one of the biggest and most influential monetization platform for fashion , beauty and lifestyle influencers in the world ) was a good day for me . I want to get “invited “in the NewYork Fashion week as a fashion blogger and be a tiny but significant part of the industry. Joining the designer shows ,dinner parties, work with bigger brands , speak on the blogger conferences, go to those all expenses paid “work trips”, Earning enough money that I can turn this into a career ….. As I’m writing these I am laughing my heart out but hey, since you don’t have to pay taxes for dreams yet so why dream small right ?

1. Do you BUY all those dresses ? – No, I DON’T buy all those dresses. Most of the outfits are sent to me by different brands and boutiques in exchange for social media coverage. But I do buy some stuff that are on trend and I want to share with my followers …if I love them I keep them if I don’t, they go back .
2.How do bloggers make money ?- By collaborating with brands. Brands tend to send you their products and pay you to create contents for them and share with your followers. There are many marketing platforms for influencers and brands where they can make collaborations .Also if the blog is affiliated with amazon or target or Rewardstyle you can earn commission from your links .
3. How much do bloggers make ? – from zero to unlimited. Once you have a decent social media following you can earn from $100-unlimited/ per post .
4.Are you not going to pursue medicine at all ? -I don’t know . Anything can change with time . But what I really really want is to build my own business.
This past year has been so exciting…it gave me hope, confidence and motivation to bring out the better version of myself. The pure joy of expressing myself and inspiring others is priceless. Whoever has been supporting me and following on my journey , THANK YOU SO MUCH . You guys are keeping my soul ALIVE.
