A Day in Boston

Boston Common, the oldest public park in the United States

If you tell me to describe Boston in just one word , I’d say it’s a “hipster” town! Boston has 35 colleges, universities and community colleges including Harvard and MIT . So wherever you look you’ll see young, stylish millennials doing their thang(whatever that is ) ! The architecture of the city is mind numbingly gorgeous. The British colonial style buildings mixed with other styles such as Georgian architecture. When walking on the road with these buildings on the side it felt like I’ve time-traveled and went to the old Europe!

We had a two hours flight from Atlanta to Boston. From the airport our first destination was Quincy market/ Faneuil hall. This is the best place to eat and shop both for the locals and the visitors. From fresh seafood to Thai to sandwich they have everything. But husband was craving for some Korean Barbeque so we stopped at Harvard ave along the way to have lunch .We had two orders of soft Tofu soup with beef and chicken with bulgogi combination which came with 5 kinds of appetizers ( well… it was valentine’s day so a little celebration doesn’t hurt). The food was Ah-ma-zing!

The appetizers were soo good
Delicious chicken and beef tofu soup

After lunch we headed towards the Copley square and Trinity church. Copley square ,named after artist John Singleton Copley , is in the heart of the town where you can just listen to music from the street performers, shop from a local merchandiser , just the perfect place to gather and hang out . Then there is Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel with 100 years of history and elegance.

Trinity Church is an architectural marvel . I was awestruck with it’s beauty and brilliance. Across the street there is Boston Public Library. I wish I could show you how enormous the library is. This is actually the third highest public library in the United States after Library of Congress and New York Public Library.

Right across from the library they have the best destination for dessert, Max Brenner, a chocolate bar , a holy grail for the chocolate addicts. We got a Masala Mexican tea, oh my my , you have to have it to understand how good it was.

From there we went to the Newbury Street, most fabulous & enchanting street of Boston. If you love good food, shopping , cute classy boutiques, luxury brands or just to watch good looking, stylish people Newbury Street is the right place for you. They also have art galleries, theaters, fitness centers , something for everyone really. We spent our evening by some window shopping and people watching ; free entertainment & we loved it !We had a baby and a dog on board so our options were kinda limited, but it’s cool!

And then it was time to hit the road on our way to NYC. Let’s save the NYC stories for later.

But Boston! you snowy , cool , hipstery town, you conquered my heart!
