Avocado Toast : Different varieties

I wanted to start my “recipe book” with something that is super fast, effortless , healthy and of course YUM! This classic recipe is definitely the winner and a real multitasker from a health and flavor standpoint. You can add so many flavors and play with this recipe in so many ways . I got few yummy recipes for you that are popular in my house .So come along !Let’s make this creamy, crisp and oh so satisfying sandwich your family will savor!

PREP TIME : 3 MINUTES COOK TIME: 2 MINUTES       TOTAL TIME : 5 MINUTES    YIELD: 1   CATEGORY: BREAKFAST/SNACK   CUISINE: AMERICAN

Avocado with Egg and Garam masala

1 perfectly ripe Hass Avocado

1 slice of whole grain wheat bread

Pinch of salt, I recommend Fine Celtic Sea salt if available

pinch of black pepper

pinch of cayenne pepper

pinch of garlic powder

pinch of Garam Masala , you can get it from your local Indian grocery store

1 egg

1 tsp of lime juice

Fresh cilantro/ basil

Drizzle of olive oil

Instructions:

  1. The only thing to keep in mind for this recipe is that you need a perfectly ripe Hass avocado. Cut the avocado into slices or you can mash it up with a fork until it’s smooth and creamy.
  2. Add salt, black pepper, garlic, lime juice and cayenne pepper in the avocado.Mix them well.
  3. Toast the bread until golden. If you don’t have whole wheat bread go ahead with whatever you have on hands. English muffin , french bread works great too.
  4. Boil the egg. you can also half boil it if you like runnier yolk. Or poach it or fry it however you like . you can’t go wrong with an egg on avocado!
  5. Top/Spread the avocado on top of your toasted bread .
  6. sprinkle Garam Masala on top.
  7. Drizzle with good olive oil.

Voila! Your Avocado toast is ready to eat.

Avocado Toast with Tomato , basil and Feta 

Top your avocado toast with sliced Roma tomato and Feta cheese. Top it with sliced scallions and fresh basil and lime juice!

Avocado Toast with bacon and cheese

Top your avocado with sliced Turkey bacon and shredded cheese. Top with fresh cilantro or scallion.
