My Days in France: Paris

Paris ! It has been a long awaited dream for me . I have been day dreaming to visit this magical city of lights since I was a little girl. A city with thousands of years of history, famous for it’s sophistication and class, the throne residence of fashion and so much more. The lavish French Renaissance style architecture or Parisian cuisine , Paris has been attracted millions of visitors every single day. There are so many things to experience in this city that it can be a little bit overwhelming for first timers , specially if you’re traveling with an infant! So here’s my list of favorite things that we did and loved on this trip :

The Eiffel Tower:

No trip to Paris is complete without visiting the famous Eiffel tower. Built in 1889 World fair, this 324 meter tall tower has been an engineering marvel and symbol of romance for many people. you can also get a gorgeous view of the city from the tower which costs 17 EUR. But if you have height phobia like me you can still enjoy the view from the nearby parks or cafes while sipping on your cafe au lait. At night the lighting on the tower is just purely magical and trust me , you don’t wanna miss it!

Louvre Museum:

The Louvre Museum is the world’s largest and most visited art museum. This former Royal palace is the home of many famous art pieces including Leonardo Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa which is the most talked about art in the world. Get the museum pass from the tourist office to visit most of the major museums in Paris and also to skip the line . You need at least half a day to just to see the highlights so the earlier you start the better.

Arc de Triomphe:

One of the most famous landmark of the city where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city for 8 EUR. It was built to celebrate Napolean’s victory at the battle of Austerlitz.

Walk the Champs- Elysees:

This is basically the Fifth Venue of NewYork. A street filled with luxury brands , shops, cafes, restaurants ,clubs and of course people. Great place to walk in the afternoon and shopping if you don’t mind spending a little. Once you are tired many restaurants are available including some famous dessert places like Ladurée ( highly recommend, absolutely majestic interior!).

Seine River Cruise:

Seine river cruise is another great option to spend an afternoon. A walk by the Seine is equally delightful I would say. Seine in one side and the majestic French architecture on the other side is not a bad combo at all.

Spend an afternoon at a Parisian café:

I’m literally obsessed with the style of Parisian cafés. Open air sitting arrangements with decorative lighting and bouquet of flowers, the laughter ,the smell of cafe au lait …everything is just inexplicably amazing, just the way I imagined. Enjoy the vibe with your loved ones while taking a bite on macaroons and sipping on your afternoon Cappuccino on this rendez-vous spots of the city.

If you’re traveling with a kid or parents:

If you are traveling with an infant or parents like we did, I recommend taking Hop on Hop off bus tour where they are going to take you to all the attraction spots, you can get off , explore as much as you want and then hop on again to the next destination. All the buses have audio guide that tells you about the historical background of each attraction spot which is pretty neat. That way you can avoid moving strollers and thousand other stuffs to multiple destinations in public transports .We also had a baby carrier to carry Isabella with us ,so that we could just leave the stroller at the hotel. All the necessary baby stuffs that your baby might need are available on every corner so save yourself from the trouble of packing tons of baby stuffs when you travel.

If I could live just anywhere in the world it would be Paris. A city filled with so much history and culture …what I can say ,I’m already having an itch to go back ! Paris, you have my heart!
